C.C. Herron was reputedly living with his wife, Sadie Pearl Canty, in the 1950s, in Augusta.  There are two Charles C. Herrons in the records. There was reputedly something about a family in Savannah, perhaps before Sadie Pearl Canty.  Charlie Herron's first wife was Betty Meeler, according to Scott Herron.

A Charles C. Herron, 29 (born c1881), is listed in the census in 1910 in Morgan County, Rutledge, GA, with wife Sallie B. Herron (could this have been Sadie P.?), 26, (born c1884) Sarah D., 6, H650 Ed108, Sheet 5, Vol71.  CC Herron married Sadie Pearl Canty (see Canty records) born c1895 not in any census records up to 1920. Two  known children:

• 1. Lilly Frances Herron died during the first world war (1916-17?) at 21 months.  She was born in Augusta on May 2, 1917 and died in Augusta on Nov. 27, 1918. She is buried on the same plot as Charlie pretty much right in front of where Charlie is buried, but she doesn't have a headstone.
• 2. Evelyn Pearl Herron born 22 June 1914.  Evelyn Peebles died on August 14, 2000. She is buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta.
