In my family research, I stumbled across this
webpage (Eulogy of Lt. Wilson Williams). I
am a descendant of Lewis Crawford Williams, Sr. who I know to definitely
be a brother of George Kearse Williams. I know that their father was Wylie
Green Williams (I have never encountered his name being William) from SC.
I would love to correspond with the source of the information on that
webpage. 26 Dec. 2004 |

My husband's great-grandfather's brother and father were supposedly in
the Civil War and were killed or died and buried in NC. They were Martin
J. Williams and one of his sons, either Henry or Oldred/Aldred Williams.
They were living between Rivers' Bridge and Buford's Bridge, along the Big
Salkehatchie River, in what is now Allendale County. Please advise as to
whether those men served and, if so, what happened to them. My husband's
great-grandfather Allen Cornelius Williams and his brother George Perry Williams
also served and they came home again. 27 March 2007 |

Is there a younger Reddin Wilson who was married to Elizabeth in the
1880 Census and had young children, including William R. who was born circa
1876? I believe William R. married my aunt, Minnie A. T. Connelly, daughter
of James F. Connelly and wife, Lucinda. Ironically, Minnie's sister, Rebecca
Connelly Ferguson Harden is pictured with her son, John Henry Ferguson, in
the photo of the Redding Wilson house. I estimate this picture was probably
made between 1910-1915. Apparently, Rebecca and her first husband, John S.
Ferguson, bought this Wilson place-about 52 acres. Rebecca later sold it
to U. S. Proveaux and it is owned today by Ralph Grainger. Guy Ferguson let
me borrow this picture to have copies made. I am a descendant of William
Henry Connelly who lived at Ehrhardt. He was the brother of Rebecca Connelly
Ferguson Harden and Minnie Connelly Wilson. I am of the opinion that Minnie
and William R. Wilson ended up in Savannah and are probably buried there.

Am seeking information on the family of a Henry WROTEN as shown on an
1850 Barnwell Co. census. I understand that there was a Henry WROTEN in Allendale
CO shortly after this time. His age is listed on the 1850 census as 27 with
a female - Eliza age 30 in same household. My great grandmother - Morning
RHODEN/ WROTEN HIGHTOWER was from the old Barnwell Co District and I am trying
to connect with her family. As Henry and Morning were "next- door-
neighbors" they may have been related. 29 Sept. 2003 |
