My GreatGreat Grandfather was Carlos Tracy, a cotton factor in Beaufort. He was born at New London,Conn in 1793. He Married Jane Dollar McLean in 1822. They resided in Beaufort County and raised three children Jane, Carlos and Clemm (my Great Grandfather). Carlos died at an early age in 1827 and is buried in the graveyard at St Helena's Church. Clemm married Emma Heyward Parker in 1852 and they resided on a plantation near Grahmville. Clemm practiced law at Gilsonville. He died in 1859 and is also buried at St Helena's. Clemm's brother Carlos practiced law in Beaufort and Collenton Counties. He served in The Confederate Army and attained the rank of Colonel.
