2. Charles S. Clark was born 27 August 1830 to Sanford Clark in Medfield.
I never successfully located Charles in the 1850 census.
(#12) Charles S. Clark, age 21, bootmaker, born in Medfield, parents Sanford & Nancy Clark married in Medway 4 August 1851 Silence H. Mundon (1829-1887), age 22, born in Fall River, parents John & Sarah Munden, (int 4 May 1851), first marriage for both. They were married by Luther Bailey, Minister in Medway. Note that his sister Ellen married a Mundon also. In the birth record for Charles Sanford Clark, Silence is listed as Silence "R" Clark.
They are shown in the 12 Sept. 1855 state census in Medway, 188,199, Charles Clark 25, Silence Clark age 26, Charles S. Clark age 2.
I do not yet have an 1860 census record for them.
Charles S. Clark enlisted 23 Aug. 1864 in the Union Army in the civil war, for one year as a private of the 18th unattached Co., afterwards Co. B, 4th Regt. Mass. Heavy Artillery. He was discharged for disability 6 May 1865.
He is listed in an 1865 Massachusetts state census in Medway (dwelling #653 family #726) at 36 years of age, "soldier," with Silence H. age 35, Charles S. Junior age 12, Edward P. age 4, Antoinette Clark age 21, occupation looks something like "Straw Sewer," and his nephew, Arthur Mundon age 10.

Medway 1880 census Charles "L." Clark 50, works in a boot factory, Silence Clark 50, Charles "L." Clark, son 26, Edward P. Clark, son, 20.
Charles was listed as a "boot crimper" in an 1883 Medway birth record. Charles lived in Medway after the Civil War and died there on 2 August 1882 @ 52 years 11 months, buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Medway.
