Name: Sabbath CLARK, Sex: M, Birth: 1587 in Stafford, England, Death: 30 Mar 1663 in Tarvin Parish, Oxford, England

Note: e-mail of 8 Jun 1997 from Jean, JNaylor767@aol.com Joseph's father is proven to be Sabbath Clark of Staffordshire and Hockenhull. Sabbath was born in 1587. This line from Sabbath on down can be found on file with the College of Arms in London. Sabbath's father is thought to be Joseph (probably John) of Burton on Trent who was baptised on 8/31/1539. Sabbath Clark was the Vicar of Tarvin and had five known sons, John, Samuel, Josias, Nathaniel and Daniel and one known daughter Elizabeth. These have been proven to be Sabbath's children as they were mentioned is his will or there are other supporting documents. For example Josias & Nathaniel both graduated from Cambridge became preachers and died before their Father. e-mail of 13 Jun 1997 from Jean, JNaylor767@aol.com Sabbath's will dated 2/24/1663

After Elizabeth Overton Clark died, Sabbath married second Jane Cropley who d in 1671

"Clark-Clarke Families ...": '... a recent correspondent has cited the 1623 baptism at Tarvin co Chester, of Daniel, son of the Rev Sabbath Clark and grandson of Joseph Clark Jr. and of the Rev Valentine Overton. His older brothers were Samuel and Josias. The Rev. Josias Clark of Boston, Mass is identified by "Colonial Clergy" as son of the Rev. Sabaoth Clark. The link is obvious.'
