Page 205: Indenture made 1 May 1769. Between Joseph Gill of Halifax Co., and Francis Gill of Chesterfield Co. "Witnesseth that the said Joseph Gill as well as for the natural love and affection he bare unto his said brother Francis Gill, as for five shillings..." Joseph sold to Francis 378 acres of land in Chesterfield Co. Begins on north side of Jones's road at the fork of the said road, then on Perkinson's line north; (Handy's?) line.

Page 206: Indenture made 1 May 1769. Between Joseph Gill of Co. of Halifax of the one part, and Peter Gill, son of Peter Gill by Ann Thursby (which said Peter Gill the younger is the reputed and acknowledged son of the said Peter Gill (deceased) of the other part.

Joseph Gill, for divers good causes and consideration, him thereunto moving, and for the further consideration of ten Pounds, paid by Peter Gill alias Thursby, he the said Joseph Gill sold to Peter Gill the younger, son of the said Peter Gill the elder deceased, all right title, Interest, claim and demand whatsoever which he the said Joseph Gill as heir at law to the said Peter Gill the elder, his brother, particularly 475 acres situated on the north side of the Old Town (Creek?), which adjoins lands of Thomas Tabb and Roger Atkinson, being the land devised in parcels to the said Peter Gill the younger, to Shadrick Gill, and conditionally to the child which the said Ann Thursby was pregnant with at the time the said Peter Gill the elder died-also 117 acres adjoining the 200 acres devised by Peter Gill the elder to his son Daniel, all which appears in the will and Testament of Peter Gill bearing date 7 Feb. 1755.
