Archibald Gill baptisted 16 June 1799, son of Thomas Gill.  Archibald Gill was a member of Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church Chester County, South Carolina.

The elusive Thomas Marion has just gotten more roots! Peggy found a book in the Los Angeles County Library: Early Records of Fishing Creek P resbyterian Church Chester County, South Carolina 1799 - 1859, compiled by Brent H. Holcomb and Elmer O. Parker copyright 1980. The book is divided into three sections: records of session 1700 - 1859, the visitation list of Rev. John Simpson 1774 - 1776, and the cemetery 1762 - 1979. The session records include baptisms, marriages, deaths and removals recorded. The visitation list lists early members in family groups.

Thomas Marion Gill appears on page 41 (lists of baptisms from April 1820 to April 1821) on July 10, 1820 (could be the 16) Thomas Marion Gill is baptized and father listed is Archibald Gill.

page 50 baptisms from April 1824 to April 1825 lists on May 2, 1824 James Williamson baptized and father listed is Archibald Gill.

page 55 baptisms from April 1828 to April 1829 lists on Sep 28, 1829 Mary Agnes and father listed is Archibald Gill.

page 57 baptisms from April 1831 to April 1832 lists on Jan. 22, 1832 Martha Eliz. and father listed is Archibald Gill.

Having found this terrific news, I went to the front of the book and found:

page 6 baptisms in 1799 on Jun 16, 1799 Archibald and father listed is Thomas Gill.

"Communicants admitted in 1800 On Examination. Joseph Neely, Margaret Neely, Robert Neely, Margaret Neely, Benj. Dunlap, Jane Dunlap Thomas Gill, & Agnes Gill = 8 - Wid Knox died -1

Making 53 + 8 -1 = 60 & Baptized 22 infants ovr" (this last word was hard to read)
