My research is very sketchy. However, as I search LDS films, I do copy just about everything pertaining to Gill name. I have two records of some interest.

1. Belmont Co., Deeds Vol. 28 1843-1845: Joseph Gill and Nancy his wife of Jefferson Co., OH convey to their nephew, Samuel Gill in Belmont Co., OH land.

2. Chancery document March term 1835 Belont Co., OH in which William Bradshaw-complainant vs William Gill, James Gill, Lavina Baker, Miller

GILL-OHIO

I have unraveled some additional information re: Belmont Co., OH and the Chancery document I sent you which is on the OH Gill page.

LDS microfilm #1289459 Belmont Co., OH Court Chancery Records V 3-4 1832-1839 11 July 1834: William Bradshaw vs William Gill, James Gill, Lavinia Baker & Miller Baker Wm. Bradshaw sold to John Gill a lot with house in Bridgeport (Belmont) OH 28 May 1833.

John Gill died before 1st day of June 1834 leaving the debt to Bradshaw unpaid.

"William Gill as administrator of the estate of John Gill declares there is insufficient money. William Gill, James Gill and Lavinia Gill now Baker having married Miller Baker (per document residing in Clark Co., OH in 1834) as the children and heirs of John Gill as there is no widow." Result: Lot and house are sold, Wm. Bradshaw is paid and remaining money divided between William Gill, James Gill and Lavinia (Gill) and Miller Baker.

I have been researching GILL for a number of years. I recently located a 1880 Belmont Co., OH census in which PHILENA HULL states she was born in Indiana c. 1841. I believe she is the daughter of my William as I have a marriage document for Philena Gill and W. S. Hull 27 Oct. 1861 Belmont Co., OH. My William Gill b. 1808 MD and located in all fed. census in OH had a daughter named Philena b. c 1836 also sons Samuel b. c. 1834 and Thomas b. c.1838. I have never located a marriage to ?? for these children. My question: Does anyone have a Philena Gill born Indiana c. 1841?
