Kennon (Fleet V21, Sheriff's Acct. Book, Henrico Co., S. Side of James River, p37). Daniel Gill appraiser at estate of Elisha Read 29 Jan. 1745/6, at Edward Wilkinson's plantation, appraised by Thos. Bott, Thos. Mamphus, Daniel Gill (p24, Colonial Wills of Henrico Co., VA Part Two 1737-1981 with Addenda (revised), Weisiger 1991). Daniel Gill appraised the estate of Elisha Read (Henrico Co. Wills & Deeds 1744-1748 p117) 29 Jan. 1745/6, so he was at least 21 by this date. 3 Feb. 1763, Ralph Jackson of Dale Parish, Chesterfield Co., VA, to Lewis Jackson, his son, of same, for 5 S and love and affection, 200 acres, part of a larger tract purchased by Ralph Jackson of John Fizgarrett, and bounded on lower side by Swift Creek and upper by John Jackson, Jr., Alexander Smith and Joseph Jackson. Wit: Wm. Graves, Daniel Gill. Signed: Ralph Jackson. Rec. 4 Feb. 1763. (p54 Chesterfield Co., VA Deeds 1756-1764, Weisiger 1989). 1 June 1763, Thomas Cogbill of Dale Parish, Chesterfield Co., to Daniel Gill of same, for £125, land bounded by Henry Walthall and Daniel Jackson on Swift Creek, 245 acres. No witnesses. Signed Thomas Cogbill, Rec. 1 June 1764. Thomas's wife released her dower. (p66 Chesterfield Co, VA Deeds 1756-1764, Weisiger 1989) Susannah Gibbs daughter of John Gibbs, will of 1773 - John Gill's will of 1764 states "to my brother Daniel Gill." Daniel's will of 1782 states "being the place where my brother Webster Gill lived".
Daniel Gill, Sr. of Dale Parish, Chesterfield Co., VA, will 20 Mar. 1782: wife Susannah at her death or marriage, said legacy to son Thomas Gill. Son John, the middle plantation of the tract on which I live, being the place on which my brother Webster Gill lived, the dividing line to be made in my lifetime with Wm. Cousins of 100 acres. Son Daniel, a tract of 130 acres on Youles Branch adjoining Roger Atkinson, John Dyer, Neil McLarin, John Cousin, and W. Gill. Son Thomas, the lower part of my land on the east side of Youles Branch, being the place I now live adjoining John Gill, James Gill, and Field Archer. Son Edward, the plantation of 200 acres on which Gilmore lived. Son Billey, land on the west side of Youles Branch, adjoining Wm. Cousins, Edward Dance, and Wm. Gill and his brother Thomas Gill, 100 acres. Personal estate to be divided among all my children: John, Daniel, Thomas, Edward, Billy, and Molly, said division to be made by three Gentlemen chosen by majority of my sons and daughter.
