Corre: Mrs. Ruth Gill SANDERS, 11833 Durbury Dr, Dallas TX 75218, has researched the GILLS and maintains that the parents of James and Presley GILL are not as stated above. She has not determined who their father was.  The story of the 3 brothers coming from Fauquier Co about 1814 is a family "tradition" which Mrs. SANDERS considers not true. I think it possible that they might have come to see the land and then returned to VA.

David s/o Robert & Mary (Hardin) WICKLIFFE. this ROBERT bro. to Charles & Lydia (Hardin) WICKLIFFE. Robert & Charles md sisters. Mr Joe E. GILL asserts Margaret d/o David, others have asserted she was d/o Charles. In lists of children of Charles, I have not found a "Margaret" mentioned, think she was d/o Robert.
2. Presley GILL m Sarah PHILLIPS 12 Feb 1805 Fauquier Co, VA, Located south Logan Co, Ky (the Presley Gill who md Sarah BRITT 1798 in Fauquier Co is the one who went to WV...not this one)
3. John GILL went to N.C.
4. Edward GILL

It seems that there are several people searching for GILL's of Fauquier Co VA, perhaps we should somehow pool all of our information?? I am interested in a James & Presley GILL who came to Logan Co, KY about 1815. Their father was supposed to be (by tradition?) Edward GILL. James named a son Felton GILL, and the name Felton & Presley are fairly unusual, and found in several groups from the same county. They must be related!!
