3. (V)Jacob Gill b<1711 - d1766 of Henrico Co., VA, son of Joseph Gill. Jacob Gill granted 220 acres of land in Henrico Co. (date?? 1732-58) (Mrs. Clark p69). 1736 Jacob Gill's levy. Credit given him in Sheriff's Books for 1739 (sic?, this is a 1736 entry which I have with Peter Gill). Pd. by inspector's note. (Fleet's Colonial Abstracts V21, Henrico Co., Sheriff's Acct. Book, Henrico Co., South Side of James River, p37). Jacob Gill, Debit, 1736 1 levy, paid by Peter Gill (Fleet p 37). A 1748 will mentions "land on which Jacob Gill formerly lived." February 1748, Will of Thomas Mamphus of Dale Parish, mentions the rest of my land on east side of Millstone branch where Jacob Gill formerly lived, to Wm. Glasscock. Dated 7 Feb. 1748, recorded April 1749 (p38 Colonial Wills of Henrico Co., VA Part Two 1737-1981 with Addenda (revised), Weisiger 1991). 5 April 1751, Thomas Dance, Sr. of Chesterfield Co., to Stephen Dance, his son, for Love and affection, 150 acres; being part of tract where said Thomas now lives, to include the houses, adjoining John Robertson, Joseph Gill, and Humphrey Traylor. Wit: Matthew Mayes, Henry Dance, Richard hisRmark Griffin. Recorded 5 April 1751 (p19 Chesterfield Co., VA Deeds 1749-1756, Weisiger 1991). 5 April 1751 Wm. Williams of Chesterfield Co. to Wm. Herringham of same, 100 acres bounded by Wm. Brown, John Dodd, said Wms. and said Herringham, being part of 256 acres by patent 20 Sept. 1745 to said Wms. Wit: Wm. Eanes, Joseph hisImark Gill, Peter hisPmark Gill, Recorded 7 June 1751 (p23 Chesterfield Co., VA Deeds 1749-1756, Weisiger 1991). Jacob Gill witness to will of Joseph Gill of Halifax Co., VA, 1765 (Mrs. Clark p69). 1766 will of Jacob Gill mentions only Jacob Handy son of Elizabeth Handy, she was probably his daughter, widow of Daniel Handy.

Jacob Gill of Dale Parish, Chesterfield Co., will 7 Oct. 1766, gives to Jacob Handy, son of Elizabeth Handy, 140 acres "whereon I now live"; Elizabeth Handy, widow of Daniel, all rest of my estate." Ex'x Elizabeth Handy. Wit: Wm. Smith, John Wms, Henry Dance. Chesterfield Co., Wills II, p117 (Mrs. Clark p69). Elizabeth Handy Implied as his daughter.
