Mary Ann Weston Gill was born 3/12/1812 and died 2/22/1889. She is buried in Greenmont Cemetery, Baltimore. My source of information is a book written about the Cadwallader family from Bucks and Montgomery Counties, Pa. Census data repeatedly states that Mary Ann was born in Maryland. On March 8, 1830, Mary Ann married Abel Cadwallader of Horsham, Montgomery County, Pa. Abel and his family were well-known Pennsylvania Quakers. I don't know if Mary Ann Gill was a Quaker. Mary Ann and Abel lived in Baltimore with their family. They were the parents of eleven children - Margaret Jane, Ellen Marie, Sanford Edward, Abel Gill, Harrison Clay (my gggrandfather), Laura Virginia, Emma Louisa, Daniel Reese, George Reese, Mary Matilda, and Ann Elizabeth. In 1850, a 70 year old woman named Ellen Weston was living with the family. She reported that she was born in Maryland. I assume that this was Mary Ann's mother, but I am not certain why she would have used her maiden name instead of her married name which would have been Gill.
I have searched everywhere for any information that would indicate which Gill family Mary Ann was part of. I have hit the perpetual brick wall. I would so much appreciate any clues or information that you might have on Mary Ann. Thank you, in advance, for any help that you can give.
