JAMES GILL, b. 17 Mar 1826, in Banwell, son of Mary Ann Gill and James Bradford, came to America in about 1844. Married HANNAH GERRETT (aka JERARD, JARAD, JERRETT) in 1850. JAMES GILL served in the Civil War despite owning land, having a wife and six children. In about 1875, the entire family together with the CHASE and HOWLAND family moved to Iowa, settling in Calhoun, Pocahontas, Webster and Humboldt counties. James Gill and Hannah Gerrett had the following children, all born in Sterling Valley, NY:
