State of Georgia, Meriwether County (Will Book A, page 431, 432)

In the name of God, Amen. I William Gill of said State and County, being of advanced age and knowing that I must shortly depart from this world deem right and proper both as respects myself and family that I should make a disposition of the property which a kind providence has blessed me. I therefore make this my last will and testament.

Item first

I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christianlike manner suitable to my circumstances and condition.

Item second

I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay by my Executors hereinafter named as I am unwilling my creditors should be delayed of their rights especially as there is no necessity for delay.

Item third

I give and devise unto my beloved wife Rhoda with whom I have lived in the strictest quiet and love for many years, Sixty acres of land more or less it being the south part of Lot No. (124) One Hundred and twenty four in the tenth district of Meriwether County together with all other property or effects belonging to me or in my name, to have full power to use and control in any manner she may see fit and proper for her benefit and support during her natural life. And after the death of my wife Rhoda, it is my will that said estate or effects be equally distributed between eight of my children, to wit, Caroline S. Bradly, wife of Norman Bradly, Susan H. Donalson, wife of Thomas Donalson, Julia Donalson,wife of L. S. Donalson, F. L. Gill, Olive H. Gill, John A. Gill, Nancy Davis, wife of Clement Davis, Andrew J. Gill and Rebecca L. Ragland, wife of Edward Ragland.

Item fourth,

It is my will that Henry A. Gill, Mary E. Howard, wife of John H. Howard, Thomas Y. Gill and Hiram M. Gill have one dollar each as their distribution share of my estate.

Item fifth,

I constitute and appoint my beloved wife Rhoda executrix and beloved sons Andrew J. Gill, Olive H. Gill and John A. Gill Executors to this last will and testament this August 11, 1858.
