Have you come across anyone that is working in the William Gill Family from Granville Co NC.
William Gill 1758 - 1816 moved to Granville Co North Carolina originally was from Mecklenburg Co Virginia. He was in the Rev. War Army Certificate #1097, Lieut. Colonel of Militia & Captain of Horse Militia. Judith Maynard Gill predeceased him in death. The Raleigh N C Register issued of Friday, 20 September 1816 page 3, col 5 reported his death " Col. Wm Gill of Granville County, an old revolutionary officer, died lately. I have court documents that came from the North Carolina Archives that state: Court Session 2- 1819, Col William Gill died 1816, petition : William H Gill, William Davie and wife Anna (William Davey and Nancy M Gill were married 7-8-1818, Thomas Pool Bondman), Frances E Gill, John H. Gill and Charles G Gill by his guardian William H. Gill, and Betsey W Thomas aka Elizabeth W. Gill. 2/21/1854 Isaac Slaughter aquaninted with William H Gill , claimed that William Gill, Colonel and his wife called him their son. I submitted the Gill sons were in Columbia Co., Ga, probably moved there with William Davie who was from Columbia Ga in some court documents.
Columbia County, GA 1821 tax lists show three Gills all immediately adjacent to each other: William H. Gill, John N. Gill, and Charles C. Gill. All paid poll tax, implying they resided in Columbia County, for 31 1/4 cents.
Columbia Co., GA deeds (I did not abstract these and I assume the middle initial differences are in error.)
