William Gill, born 1726-1765 (apparently 1726-32), Granville Co., NC census  1786, Tara River Dist., 2m 21-60,  3wf, 3 black 12-50, 6 black <12 and >50, 14 total  (State Census of N.C. 1784-1787, 2nd Ed. Revised, A.K. Register, Gen. Pub. Co., Inc. Baltimore, 1983, p50).  This William Gill might be the  William Gill who was son of Joseph Gill, Chesterfield Co., VA, but there is a Northumberland Co., VA connection to Granville Co. too.
