ADKERSON	I am researching the Adkerson surname. Henry Adkerson b. Feb 14, 1843 d. Jan. 23 1930 served in the elite militia unit Chatham's Ga. Artillery during Civil War. CSA marker on grave names him Henry Atkinson. Unit served S.Carolina coast & Georgia. Believe he resided in low country and moved to Sand Mountain Al after the war. AYERS	Searching for information on Ayers ancestors in Hampton/Barnwell/Bamberg/Allendale Counties. Arrived on ship Britannia from Newry, Ireland in 1767 and were granted land under bounty agreement. Land located in Long Canes, Colleton County (1768) and Saltcatchers. John AIRS and wife Catharine, Thomas AIRS, John AIRS, Margaret AIRS, William AIRS and Suzannah AIRS.
