| COX |
Seeking info on Eli COX who died before 7 Mar 1836 leaving
two children: Richard Asa Cox b.4 Feb 1815 d. 19 May 1884 and Franklin K.
Cox b. 28 Jan 1817 d. 8 May 1859. Franklin K. Cox was appointed a guardian,
Jesse Davis, upon his father's death and later married Joseph Ann Elizabeth
Lee, daughter of Joseph and Catherine Parker Lee of Sylvania, GA. A letter
written by Eli's grandson indicates the town the family may have been from
is Brett, SC although that town doesn't seem to be in existence today (Any
clue as to what it's name is now?) Other info implies the family was from
the area in SC across from Effingham, Co., GA which would be Hampton or Jasper
counties today, but Beaufort county back in 1836. I'm willing to share Cox
info from this time period forward with interested parties.
