The SC information is from copies of pages of the Walling Family Bible.

My grandmother, Julia Maria Wolfe was born in a house accross the street from the Methodist Church in Hampton. I remember being there as a child and visiting my, I believe, Great Aunt Hattie. In l967 or 68 my husband and I and our two children visited with one of my mother's cousins, either Mr. Will or Mr. Hugh. We enjoyed seeing plants on the porch which descended from his mothers plants. My children ages about 3 and 4 were enchanted by his beautiful vegetable garden. A young neighborhood boy, a little older than our children, was visiting at the time. My husband, young daughter ( who wasn't born at the time of the previous visit) and I visited Hampton 5 or 6 years ago. Of course we knew the Bowers were no longer. We were so pleased to see that the house was in beautiful condition and was being used, I believe, as the office of a city or county agency.
