| McNEIL |
My grandparents Alonzo and Estelle McNeil were originally from Tillman,
S.C. and later relocated to Ridgeland, S.C. I do not know the year in which
they were married, so it hard for me to detect the timeframe in which this
occured. Alonzo McNeil was born in 1883 in Tillman and my grandmother Estelle
was born on 15 Dec 1899 in Tillman. I also know that my grandfather had a
brother by the name of Richard who had 13 children. I do not know if there
were other siblings. My grandmother had four brothers, Jesse, Wellman (not
sure about the spelling), Willie and Henry and one sister, but I do not know
her surname. 16 Feb. 2003 |

| MILLER PEARSON |
I have been doing research on my family who resided in the Ridgeland,
Jasper county, in Coosawhatchie, Jasper county and possibly Beaufort. My
Great Grandmother's name was Essie Rhett Miller, born about 1880, Essie married
a Sam Miller and they had one daughter, May Belle (Mable) Miller born about
1901 who married a Douglas Pearson (who was either a Mullato, or of quadroon
decent and I can not find anything on this man), my grand mother (Mable)
had three children, my mother Ruth Pearson, Willie Pearson, and Nathaiel
Pearson, all born in Coosahatichie South Carolina. My Great Grandmother Essie
had sisters, their names were Carrie Geter (Jeter) married to Will Geter
(Jeter), Ana Bulter married to John Bulter, and Tillie Income Married to
Hampton Income (spelling?). I have not located anything on the aunt except
their names. I have other family names and need help to figure out
who they were, a Clarance Miller, Evelyn Miller, a Ernestine Lawton, Ellen
Newton and a Leroy Newton, They are supposed to be cousins. Also a Lula Smith
in Oakie Chokie, Florida. These name were on an obituary for my Aunt Carrie
Geter. I have no idea who they are. However, my mother name was with them
as one of Aunt Carries nieces.
Finally I am searching for any information on the Pearsons, since my grand
mother married a Douglas Pearson. I am not sure if he was from Jasper of
Savannah. She than married a Sam Wyne of Beaufort South Carolina, but never
really used that last name. Any information appreciated, and I will share
my information. 17 Nov. 2004 |
