WAGES |
Seek data on Dawson/Dorson WAGES and family-3 sons,
Dawson, William, and Jacob. He made his will in Richland Co, SC in 1821-
He mentions his wife. They appear to have come from Rowan Co, NC, then into
Richland, Chester, Fairfield Co's of SC and track back to Carroll Co, MD.
Dawson/Dorson owned a tremendous amount of land in Richland Co, (have all
the land plats) and by the 1840s-50s, a long line of heirs were fighting
over it. Related names: Chesley BOATWRIGHT; Samuel DENT; DUNCANs - one of
them was Rebecca WAGES, married BOATWRIGHT, then married a WAGES-or we have
3 different Rebecca's....sigh..... Unless they tie into the SHELBYs, I have
no connections to the WAGES. They are a complicated, fascinating family,
that goes right into the burning of the Jackson Co, MS Courthouse, by the
COPELAND-WAGES gang.

I walk my dog along the trails and fire breaks of Ft Jackson and came
across a sign along a trail with the word cemetary on it. The sign
has an arrow pointing in to the woods, which leads to another sign that simply
said "cemetary # 6" there in the middle of the woods, no fence no bordering,
just a spot in the thick woods next to a tree is a headstone. It's
very old but it appeared to say: "In memory of Darrell E. Wise, died on __
June 1864, was born on __ Jan 1842 was 23 years of age." There were
some plastic flowers there that are at least a couple of years old. Please
