Darrell Wise that is buried at FT. Jackson was my great uncle. He was the son of John Henry Wise and Mary Leanna Williams, father of Elias Williams of Calhoun County, S.C. Darrell Wise after serving in the CSA returned home with a bullet wound in his leg only to die from blood poisioning. My mother stated that his father left home to enlist in the CSA. As he was walking down the drive way, he looked back and saw his son Darrell following. Darrell stated that he was going to fight the yankees also. He was carrying his squirrell gun.
