Buck Hill Access Area |
This access area on Lake Wateree is operated by Duke Power Company. It is located at the south end of the lake, just above the dam. |
Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site(Camden) |
The site of the early village of Camden now features several restored buildings, a gift shop, and a nature trail. A replica of the Kershaw-Cornwallis house has been built, and some of the inside is furnished. Tours and slide shows are available. |
Kendall Park(Camden) |
Between the Kendall Mill and the Kershaw County Hospital is a park with a fitness course and picnic tables. To the northeast, you will find an old mill village with many restored houses. Kendall Lake is located behind the mill. |
Lugoff Access Area |
This area provides access to the Wateree River just below the dam, and it is a popular fishing spot. It is also listed as a Wildlife Viewing Area. |
N. R. Goodale State Park |
Cypress trees line the spring-fed pond which offers swimming, boating, and fishing. This is a good place to have a picnic, with some nice walking trails around the pond. The park also features a nine-hole golf course. |
Poets Pathway(Lugoff) |
Poets Pathway is the creation of D. F. Dixon, artist and poet. Here you can relax and view a large collection of his artistic creations, plus a few works by other artists. A series of nature trails go through seven acres of land. Guided tours are available, or you can walk around and explore for yourself. |
Public Boat Ramp of Lugoff(Lugoff) |
This boat ramp is located under the US #1 bridges between Camden and Lugoff. It is one of the few public access points on the Wateree River. |
Savage Bay Heritage Preserve |
Savage Bay is one of the few remaining undisturbed Carolina Bays, now protected from development. Unmarked trails lead you around the bay for observation. |
Woodward Park and Lynwood Park(Camden) |
This sports-oriented recreation area is located just west of downtown Camden, SC. It includes a disc golf course. |
