Anne Springs Close Greenway(Fort Mill) |
The town of Fort Mill is fortunate to have a 2300 acre greenway around the northern part of town. Donated by the Springs family, this scenic area has plenty of lakes, ponds, creeks, farmland, bridges and old buildings. |
Buster Boyd Access Area(Lake Wylie) |
This popular landing is located in the middle of the town of Lake Wylie. Several stores, marinas, and restaurants are within walking distance. A paved bicycle path begins here and runs thru the adjacent commercial and residential districts. |
Catawba Cultural Center |
The Catawba Cultural Preservation Project Center maintains a collection of historic American Indian displays and artifacts. The old reservation schoolhouse now houses numerous displays plus a craft store. A nature trail takes you down to an archaeological site, a Native American garden, and a reconstructed bark house. At the end of the trail you can get a magnificent view of the Catawba River. |
Cherry Park(Rock Hill) |
This attractive park is located in suburban Rock Hill, with easy access from I-77. Its main features are the sports and exercise facilities, including soccer and softball fields, plus walking, jogging, and bicycle trails. |
Ebenezer Park of Rock Hill |
In the summer, this is a popular place for camping and for launching boats onto Lake Wylie. The picnic area provides a good view of the lake. |
Fewell Park(Rock Hill) |
This wooded park in a residential section of Rock Hill has a stage, picnic area, playground, community building, and a disc golf course. |
Fort Mill Access Area |
Tucked away in York County is this small access area which provides a spectacular view of the Wylie Dam. |
Glencairn Garden(Rock Hill) |
Located in a residential section of Rock Hill is a very attractive botanical garden with fountains, bridges, grassy areas, trees, flowers, and walking paths. |
Kings Mountain State Park and National Military Park |
A wide variety of activites are available in these two parks along the border between North and South Carolina. Numerous hiking trails will be found in the scenic hilly terrain. A Living History Farm contains a collection of old log and timber structures, most of which have been moved in from other parts of the foothills region. The military park has an excellent visitors' center with a paved history trail. The park's two ponds provide opportunities for swimming, fishing, and boating. |
Manchester Meadows(Rock Hill) |
This soccer-oriented park will delight everyone from the avid fan to the walking enthusiast. |
Museum of York County |
The Museum of York County has exhibits, natural science, hands on projects, and other education programs. A picnic area and hiking trails are located behind the museum building. |
Nivens Creek Landing |
This boat ramp, owned by Duke Power Company, is located on Lake Wylie just north of the dam. |
Rock Hill Blackjacks Heritage Preserve(Rock Hill) |
The Rock Hill Blackjacks Heritage Preserve contains several hiking trails. Thirteen rare plant species are represented in this preserve. |
Springfield Trail(Fort Mill) |
The Springfield Trail is a little over two miles long. It borders Sugar Creek on the eastern side of the Springfield development. A suspension bridge near the southern end provides a crossing over a large drain, and is built on grade to accommodate bikers as well as hikers. A variety of wildlife species can be seen along the trail. |
Windjammer Beach Park(Tega Cay) |
This small park in Tega Cay has a picnic area with some great views of Lake Wylie, plus a beach where you can swim. |
Winthrop Park(Rock Hill) |
Located next to Winthrop University, this park has a variety of sports facilities. |
