Several interesting hiking trails wander thru this nature preserve that has been set up to provide feeding and roosting areas for a variety of wading birds. Besides the federally endangered Wood stork, Great egrets, Anhingas, and Great blue herons can be observed on the property. It is now the second largest Wood stork rookery in the state.

How to get there

Located off SC #162 between Rantowles and Hollywood, SC.

Take I-26 to exit #212 and go west on I-526 (Mark Clark Expressway) 11.2 kilometers. Exit onto “US #17 South” and go west on the Savannah Highway (US #17) 11.9 kilometers. Turn left onto SC #162 (Dixie Plantation Road) and go west 7.2 km. The parking lot will be on the right.
