Peachtree Rock Preserve protects 306 acres of diverse ecosystems ranging from mountain to desert-like plant communities. Several hiking trails highlight the interesting and unusual scenery. Camping is not permitted, and there are no paved roads, no picnic tables, no restrooms, and no trash cans, so this is definitely an area protected in its natural state.

How to get there

Take US #302 out of Columbia, SC. Go past the airport, past South Congaree, and past the Edmund community. Turn left on SC #6 where it veers off from SC #302, then turn left onto the second paved road. At the stop sign, turn right onto a Peachtree Rock Road, and the small parking lot is on the left. Look closely, because this parking lot is easy to miss.
