A mile-long hiking trail takes you to a 4000-year old pile of oyster shells discarded by Native Americans. Several other trails lead off into the woods, with some spectacular marsh views as well.
Note that only foot traffic is permitted on these trails.

| How to get there |
Take US #17 to the town of Awendaw, then turn right onto Doar Road. When you reach the Awendaw Town Hall, be sure to take the fork off to the left. Continue down Doar Road and look for a sign that reads “Sewee Trail”. Turn right onto Forest Service road #243 (unpaved), which is known as Salt Pond Road. About halfway down the road, you will see the trail entrance on the right-hand side of the road. If you are drivng, you will need to proceed to the parking area at the end of the road.
