Plenty of sports and exercise facilities can be found at Virginia Acres Park, including the H. Odell Weeks Activities Center, with a large gymnasium, and a paved path for walking, jogging, and roller skating. There is also an excellent playground.

Across the street is the Carolina Bay Nature Reserve with a lake of roughly eight acres and a half-mile trail through the woodland.
