Confederate Veteran Committed Suicide

Anderson, Special - John W. Martin of Fork township committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with a shot gun. Continued ill health produced mental derangement and this was cause assigned for taking his own life. He was about 70 years of age and a Confederate veteran. He served throughout the war, first in Orr's regiment and then in the Palmetto Sharpshooters.
