Obituary of
Mr. Neal McDonald
The Dillon Herald, Dillon, South Carolina
April 16, 1908, Vol. 13, No. 16
Death Claims Old Landmark.
Mr. Neal McDonald, one of our most highly esteemed citizens, died April 1st.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. J. Brown at Carolina church. Mr. McDonald
was a brave Confederate soldier and lost his hearing while in active service at Ft. Sumter
where he did valiant service. He was 83 years old and leaves a wife, four sons and one
daughter to mourn his loss. He was a good neighbor, a God fearing citizen, a kind and
indulgent father and he will be sorely missed not only by his immediate family but by
the entire community.
