Resolution of respect to the memory of Mr Jasper S Bethea by the official board of the First Methodist Church, Latta, SC.
Whereas God, in His infinite wisdom, has taken from our midst our brother, Jasper S Bethea, be it resolved:
First, that while we recognize the wisdom of God in all things and strive to bow submissively to His will. It is a source of grief to us to know that we will ever be deprived of his genial presence at future meetings and the guidance of a life dedicated to the service of his Lord.
Second, that in the death of our brother, the Church has lost one of its most loyal members, our community a leader in spiritual and material advancement.
Third, that a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family of our deceased brother, a copy to the Southern Christian Advocate, and a * to the Latta Observer for publication. E B Berry
