Saturday March 9th, 1912 Mr. H. G. Godbold died at his home very unexpectedly to his family and friends. He was 65 years of age and served 4 years in the late Civil War between the states. He has been in the employment of Mr. Tracy E. Fore for the past 14 years but was forced to give up his position on January 1st on account of his health. He is survived by his wife, several children and one brother, Mr. John G. Godbold, of Marion, SC. An honest man, a true soldier and a sincere friend has gone to his reward.
