Another Veteran Passes
Mr. Hardy Smith Died at His Home
Near Gaddys Mill Last Friday

Death claimed another veteran of the Lost Cause when Mr. Hardy Smith passed away at his home near Gaddys Mill last Friday. Mr. Smith was well advanced in years having passed the 80th milestone in his journey through life.

The funeral services were held at Gaddys Mill Sunday and interment was made in the family plot, the services being attended by a large concourse of people, including members of the American Legion and the surviving veterans of the community.

Mr. Smith was one of the best citizens of his community and having always led an upright, honorable life, he was held in high esteem by all who knew him. Until his health was impaired by the infirmities of age Mr. Smith was a frequent visitor to Dillon and many of his Dillon friends attended the funeral service.
