Obituary of
Elizabeth Stone ELLIS
MOULTRIE --- Elizabeth Stone Ellis, 84, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at
Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Cobb Funeral Chapel
with the Revs. J.E. Moak and Roger Benton officiating. Burial will follow at
Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Adult A Dorcas Sunday School Class
and retired educators serving as honorary pallbearers.
Born Nov. 29, 1921, in Dillon County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late
Mandie Nettles Stone and the late Zingle Lee Stone. She was a retired school
teacher from Cox Elementary and a member of the Colquitt County Retired
Teachers Association. She served in the Army, was a graduate of U of South Carolina,
and retired as a teacher in the Colquitt County School System.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. "C.D." Ellis;
brothers, Albert, Raymond, Earl, Ervin, Odie and Roy Stone; and a sister, Pauline
Sweat.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral
Chapel.
Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
