Obituary of

Leonard HORNE

DILLON--Services for Leonard Horne will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 7-9 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home.

Mr. Horne, 86, died Thursday, October 30, 2003 in McLeod Regional Medical Center.

Born in Dillon County, September 16, 1917, he was the son of the late Vol Horne and Effie Goff Horne Owens. He was a retired Mechanic with City Chevrolet in Charlotte, NC and owned the Blenheim Gingerale Franchise, and was a former member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he taught the men's sunday school class.

Survivors include his daughters, Ruth Horne Norris of Hamer, Frances Horne Bullard of Marion, Mary Ann H. Totherow of Blackstock, SC, and Sherry Lee Horne of Belmont, NC; sons, James Edward Horne of Mount Holly, NC, Douglas Horne of Hamer, LeRoy Horne of Vermont, Leonard Horne, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Jerry Horne of Florida, and Michael Horne of Charlotte; sister, Cora Lee Meekins of Dillon; 19 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Horne was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta McDaniel Horne; a son and a grandson.
