Mr J F Herring Dies in Durham

Mr J F Herring died Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs Russell Sanderson, in Durham, NC., and was buried at Millers Church, near Mullins on Friday. Mr Herring was born near Marion but had made his home in and near Dillon for the past 15 years.

Mr Herring had been in feeble health for several months and went to the home of his daughter in Durham to recuperate. He suffered a stroke of paralysis and passed away a few days afterwards. Mr Herring was a quiet, unassuming man and a good citizen. He was held in high esteem by all who knew him.

He is survived by the following children; Walter and Hoyt Herring of Dillon; Mrs A H Peyndal(??) of Latta; Mrs Russell Sanderson and Howard, Charlie, and T B Herring of Durham, NC. His surviving sisters and brothers are; Capers Herring of Galveston, Texas, E L Herring of Savannah, Ga; Miles Herring of Estill, SC; Mrs D Rogers of Mullins, and Mrs Jack Pace of Nichols.
