Mr. Monroe Jackson Died at Floydale

Mr. Monroe Jackson died at his home at Floydale Sunday afternoon. Mr. Jackson had been in declining health for several years, but until a short while before his death was able to make occasional trips to Dillon.

Mr. Jackson was in his 68th year. He was born and reared and spent his entire life in the Floydale community where he was actively engaged in farming until his health began to fail.

Mr. Jackson's wife preceded him to the grave several years ago and the only surviving member of his immediate family is his son, Coy Jackson, who is engaged in the mercantile business at Floydale and also farms in the Floydale community.

Following the funeral service Mr. Jackson was buried at Pleasant Grove cemetery Monday morning.

Submitted by David Jackson, Aug 2004.

NOTE: Monroe Jackson was the son of Nicholas W. Jackson and Celia Lee, and husband of Mary Susan Jackson. Obituary sent to me from the personal files of Helen Moody. --dj
