Obituary from the Southern Christian Advocate
issue dated September 28, 1950, vol 114 #38 pg 13 col 1
from the Sandor Teszler Library of Wofford College:

Mrs Orianna Hamer Manning

We, the members of the Women's Society of Christian Service of Main Street Methodist Church, Dillon, SC., wish to pay this tribute of love and esteem to the memory of our faithful member, Mrs Oriana Hamer Manning, widfow of the late Laurence A Manning.

Born March 10, 1873, she was a life-long member of the Methodist Church and served a long time as teacher of the Ladies Bible Class, president of the Women's Society of Christian Services, and was always deeply interested in Epworth Orphanage.

In her passing July 25, 1950, we have lost one of our most valued members, one who was ever loyal to her church, her family and her many friends.

She was a woman of ability who was willing to serve and we shall always cherish the memory of her good works.

We extend our deepest sympathy to her loved ones.

We ask that a copy of this tribute be sent to her family, to the South Carolina Methodist Advocate, and a copy be recorded in our minutes.
Mrs Kate B McLaurin
Mrs Walker Floyd
Mrs A Power Rogers
