Mrs Watson, 85, of Latta, Ex-Teacher
Latta--July 3 (Special)--Mrs Lucy Sellers Watson, 85, widow of
D Maxie Watson and former teacher, died today at St Eugene Hospital in
Dillon after an illness of one day.
Mrs Watson was the daughter of the late John C and Margaret Mace Sellers.
She was a graduate of Columbia College, class of 1889 and taught in the
public school system for many years.
She is a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs Paul Bethea of Prescott, Ariz.,
Mrs P S Oliver of Marietta, NC., and Mrs W H Faulk of Smithfield, NC.;
17 nieces and nephews; 20 grand-nieces and nephews; and 17 great-grand nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10am Thursday from the Antioch
Baptist Church by the Rev J D Kilgore, pastor of Latta Methodist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
The family has suggested that flowers be omitted and that contributions
may be sent to Epworth Orphanage in Columbia, or to the Methodist Home for
the aged in Orangeburg.
