Cook rites are held Saturday

Phillip Cook, Jr, 67, died Thursday night in a hospital here after a long illness.

Services were held Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Mr Cook was born in Dillon County, a son of the late Phillip Sr and Martha Powers Cook. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his widow, Mattie Turbeville Cook, Dillon; a son, Robert H Cook, Dillon; two daughters, Miss Mildred Faye Cook and Mrs Margaret Scott, both of Dillon; two sisters, Mrs Bessie Blackmon, Dillon, and Mrs Sara Carter, Latta; six grandchildren.

Phillip Cook, Jr

Dillon---Phillip Cook, Jr., 67, died Thursday in a local nursing home.

Born in Dillon, he was a son of the late Phillip and Martha Powers Cook. Mr Cook was a retired farmer.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs Mattie Turbeville Cook; a son, Robert H Cook of Dillon; two daughters, Mildred Faye Cook and Mrs Margaret Scott of Dillon; two sisters, Mrs Bessie Blackmon of Dillon and Mrs Sara Carter of Latta; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 4pm today at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Blanton-Cottingham Funeral Home is in charge.
