Joel Arnette, Sr

Hamer---Services for Joel Glenn Arnette, Sr., 72, will be held at 3pm today at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church. Cooper Funeral Home is in charge.

Mr Arnette died Friday, Feb 3 1995. Born in Dillon County, he was a son of the late Walter Meekins, Sr and Ina Lee Arnette. He attended The Citadel and Furman University and was an Army veteran of World Wat II. He retired as a farmer and was a member of Masonic Blue Lodge 142 AFM and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.

Surviving are his wife, June B Arnette; a daughter, Diane Vereen of Cherry Grove, NC; sons, Joel Arnette, Jr of Hamer, George Arnette of Dillon; stepsons, Harry, Jr and James Arnette, both of Raleigh, Alexander Arnette of Lake View and John Arnette of Atlanta; brothers, Meekins Arnette of Dillon and Horace Arnette of Hamer; and nine grandchildren.
