Contributed to the Marion County, SCGenWeb website by: Bushy Hartman 2 May 2002 Samuel Strother deed to Gideon Gibson Craven County, SC Charleston Deed Book 83-B, page 754 South Carolina) Craven County) ss KNOW all men by these presents that I Samuel Strother of the above Mentioned Place for and in Consideration of three Hundred pounds Good and Lawfull Money of the said Province to me in hand paid by Gideon Gibson of the same plase at and before the Sealing I Delivering of these presents the Receipt thereof is hereby Acknowledged have Bargained and sold and by these presents Doth Bargain and Sell one Negro Boy Named Peter now in the Actual Possession of the above said Gideon Gibson Aged About Twelve Years to him the said Gibson his heirs and Assigns to their only proper use and benefit and behoof of the said Gibson and I do by these presents Oblige my Self my heirs to Warrant and Defend the above Mentioned Negro Peter IN WITNESS Whereof I have Set my hand and Seal this 30th Day of May 1757.
