BETHEA, James R. (1809-1878)
served in the 23rd Regiment, South Carolina, Confederate Army during the War Between the States, attaining the rank of colonel. Served as Representative in the South Carolina State Legislature 1848-1850.Son of Philip Bethea (1781-1865), who served in the South Carolina State Senate 1800-1802. Interment at Dothan Cemetery, Dillon County, SC.
