HAYES Family
The next family to be here noticed is the Hayes family, of Kirby Township. The first of this
family in this county were James Hayes, John Hayes, William Hayes and Ebben. Of these, Ebben did
not remain here, but emigrated West; nothing further is known of him. They all came from Virginia,
and were of English descent. The other three married and settled in this county. The family came
here during or before the Revolutionary War.
