LANE Family

The Lane family, with its many connections, will now be noticed. They all came from old Osborne Lane, on Buck Swamp. He was here, and a man grown, with perhaps a family, in the Revolutionary War, and was a Tory; he died in 1840 ... Osborne Lane married a Miss Crawford, a sister of old James Crawford, of Spring Branch - I suppose older than her brother. The fruits of the marriage, as known, were eight sons, John, Thomas, Alexander, James, Robert, David, Stephen and William, and two daughters Kesiah and Elizabeth.
