McINNIS
The McInnis family, in the Carolina neighborhood, will next be noticed. Of the family, the first
known was Duncan McInnis, who was a most excellent man and worthy citizen. He is thought to have been
a Scotchman, though, perhaps, born in the county. He married some Scotch lady, settled in the
Carolina Neighborhood, raised a considerable family, four sons and four or five daughters; the sons
were Neill, John L., Miles and another, name not remembered. The two latter emigrated to Texas some
years ago with John L. McInnis. Neill McInnis died a few years ago; he left a family unknown to the writer.
Of the daughters of Duncan McInnis, two married McLaurins. Another married A. J. McDonald.
