SHERWOOD
The first Sherwood known in the county was John Sherwood, and old man, more than sixty years ago; he was a great church man and exceedingly pious; he had two or three sons and one daughter. Of the sons, nothing is known except as to James. James Sherwood married Miss Martha (Patsy) Bethea, a daughter of William Bethea, near Harlleesville; by this marriage three sons were born and raised - Cade, Postell and John.
