TO ALL PEOPLE to whom this present writing shall come I John
Godbold Senior of Craven County in the province of South Caro-
lina planter send GREETING KNOW YE that I the said John
Godbold as well for and in con-


sideration of the natural love and affection which I have    131
and bear unto my well beloved son John Godbold as for divers
other good causes and considerations me hereunto moving have
given and granted and do by these presents do fully clearly
and absolutely give and grant and confirm unto my said son
John Godbold One Hundred and fifty acres of land of the tract
that I the said John Godbold Senior now lives upon the South
part of it Do  I the said John Godbold Sen.r for the same con-
sideration as above me moving do fully clearly and absolutely
give and grant to my well beloved son Thomas Godbold One
hundred and fifty acres of land out of the above Tract being
the North side TO HAVE AND TO HOLD as their own property from
me their Father John Godbold Sen.r for ever from the date of
these Present Writings as also to their Executors admors and
assigns for ever to their own proper use thereof and there
with to do use and dispose at their will and pleasure as of
their own property from me their Father John Godbold Sen.r
without any manner of claim or demand of me the said John
Godbold Sen.r or of any other person or persons for me in my
name by my  cause means consent or persons meant AND FURTHER
know YE that I the said John Godbold Sen.r have put these said
two my sons John and Thomas Godbold in full possession of all
and singular the two above Tracts of land at the Delivery
unto them at the Ensealing hereof that for the confirmation
to my son John Godbold of these Present Writings IN WITNESS
whereof I have set my Hand and seal this thirtieth day of
December 1758.
