Elias Adams, Senr. to Thomas Adams, et al
To all men whom these presents shall come: I, Elias Adams, Senr., do send
greetings. Know ye that I, Elias Adams, Senr., of the state and district
aforesaid and in consideration of the love, good will, and affection which I
have and do bear towards my living children, have given and granted and by
these presents do freely give and grant unto my well beloved son David Adams
$1.00, unto my well beloved son Jno. Adams $1.00, unto my well beloved son
Elias Adams $1.00, unto my well beloved son Thomas Adams 100 acres of land
bounded on pine per stake corner on Catfish, running out from Catfish on a
line ? for myself and William Jackson to corner on pine, then up our line
for myself and William Jackson to stake per pine corner, then along Moses
Parker's line to corner on water oak in the edge of Catfish, then down said
Catfish to first mentioned corner, it being the place where Thomas lives;
also 133 acres of land I bought of Jno. Jackson beginning on pine corner made
for myself and William Jackson, then down a line of blaze trees to corner on
pine, then along a line for myself and Thomas Graves out towards
Little Reedy Creek to pine corner made for myself and Thomas Graves and
Thomas Drigers, then along and up to pine corner for myself
and Thos Drigers, then back towards Catfish and William Jackson's line to
first mentioned corner. Also 68 acres of land I bought from Arch Kerby
beginning pine per stake corner on Catfish, then running down to pine corner,
then across to Sandy Island to pine per stake corner, then up a blazed line to
pine per Catfish bay, then across the swamp of Catfish and first mentioned corner;
also all the horse kind I now possess and all the cattle and hogs and sheep I now
possess and all the geese and also all my beds and furniture, household and
kitchen furniture and working tools and using instruments of all descriptions
whatsoever and of each and every the property that I am possessed with after and
except that which I give to my children hereafter named, to him, his heirs,
executors, administrators, and assigns. Also to my well beloved daughter
Eleanor Jackson $1.00; also to my well beloved daughter Ann Adams one bed and
furniture; also to my well beloved son William Adams $1.00; and also to my
well beloved son Semion Adams one cow and her yearling.
In Witness Whereof, I have set my hand and seal this 24th day of April in the
year of our Lord 1829, and the 53rd year of American Independence.
