Valentine Rowel to State South Carolina
John Chisholm Marion District
Know all men by these presents that I Valantine Rowell of Marion District
in the State of South Carolina aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of
thirty pounds sterling money to me paid by John Chisholm Merchant in the State
and district aforesaid have granted Bargained Sold and Released and by these
presents do bargain sell and release unto the Said John Chisholm all that
plantation or tract of land called Burnt Bay tract Situated and lying in said
State and District on Said Burnt Bay joining the land of Isaac Hyet and
Moses Manning and David Rowell and Henry (?) Hedding and William Bethia
containing thirteen hundred and Sixty Acres having such lines, courses & for
on as is Represented in a plat hereunto annexed it being part of a tract of
6,877 acres of land that was Granted to me in the year of Our lord
November 5th 1792 Together with all and singular the rights member hereditaments
and appurtances to the said premises belonging or anywise incident or appertaining
to have and to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said
John Chisholm his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs
Executor and Administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the
said premises unto the said John Chisholm his heirs and assigns against myself
and my heirs and against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming the same or
any part thereof Witness my hand and seal this Twenty Fourth day of January in
the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and in the twenty fourth year of the
independency of the United States of America. - - - - -

State of South Carolina: Marion District, by Philip Bethea one of the Justices
of the Quorum for said district personally appeared Matthew Millsap and made oath
on the holy Evangalist of Almighty God saith that he saw Valantine Rowell Sign
Seal and deliver the within instrument of writing for the use and purpose within
mentioned and also subscribed the same Matthew Millsap with the name Charles
Campbell in the presence of each other to the Execution of the Same Sworn to and
assigned before me this 5th of October 1801
