To
Uriah Flowers This Indenture made this 2nd day of March 1807 and
thirty first year of the Independence of the United States of America between
Saml Savage Shff of Marion Dist & State aforesaid of the one part and Uriah
Flowers of the other part. Whereas John Jackson became indebted seized in
his demesne as of fee & possesed of and in a certain tract or parcel of land
containing five hundred acres more or less beginning on Wm Jacksons lower corner
on pine & thence running down on outside edge of Catfish Swamp to a branch below
where Fred (?) Jackson now lives then up that Brch and out to the upper corner
of a tract of land granted to Matthew Smart & out along that line to out corner
on sd line then to turn & run down said Smarts back line to corner thence to
Hayes land thence to Hoi-line to Wm Jacksons lower line thence back along said
line to the first corner. And whereas the Sd John Jackson became indebted unto
the adm'or & adm'x of John Chisholm which remained unpaid for recovery whereof
the said Adm'or & Adm'x in the court of common pleas before the associate Judges
of the court did obtain judgment against the said John Jackson for fifty eight
dollars on two separate tracts together with the int that has accrued thereon
and also forty dollars for their damages & < c. In pursuances of which
Judgement there was issued out of the said court a writ of Fieri Facia directed
to the Sheriff of the said State commanding them that of the goods & chattels
lands & c of the said Mr Jackson they should levy the sum of fifty dollars &
eight as also the sum of forty dollars for their damages & c. By virtue of
the said writ he the said Samuel S Savage Shff as aforsd did enter in and take
possession into execution the tract of land before mentioned and the same being
duly advertised for public sale did on the day of the date of these presents
sell and dispose of the above described land to the said Uriah Flowers for the
sum of thirty dollars be at that price being the highest and last bidder for
the same. Now this indenture witnesseth that the said Sam'l S Savage Shff as
aforesaid for and in consideration of the aforesaid sum of thirty dollars to
him in hand paid by the said Uriah Flowers hath granted bargained & sold &^ by
these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto the said Uriah Flowers all of the
tract of land above mentioned to have & to hold the said land together with the
buildings, rights and appurtenances belonging or in anywise incident or
appertaining with the rents issues & profits thereof unto the said Uriah Flowers
his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said Samuel S Savage
Sheriff of Marion district aforesaid hath hereunto set his hand and seal the
day & year first above written. Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of
Thos Harlee Saml S Savage Shff MD

by me sayeth that
Marion District} he was Saml S Savage Shff of MD sign seal &
deliver the written instruments of writing to Uriah Flowers the use & purposes
within mentioned & that Thos Harlee subscribed his name as concurrent witness
to the same
